I welcome proposals for commissions from all musicians and ensembles. To date, I have been commissioned to write solos, duos, and chamber music which have been premiered at festivals and stand alone concerts in Ghana, the US and UK. I love working collaboratively with musicians and making music unique to them and am happy to use staff-based notation, graphic scores, text-based scores, and more experimental site-specific methods depending on the commissioner's interests, needs, and imagination. I am experienced in both acoustic and electronic mediums and some of my music includes theatrical aspects.

Rates for Commissions (2024)

 

The rates below are recommended from NewMusic USA's commissioning calculator and I have also adjusted them for inflation and compared them to rates in Canada and the UK. I encourage musicians to form consortiums and I can often help connect musicians with other musicians to raise the appropriate funds. I am also happy to help start and manage GoFundMe campaigns and or look at grant applications jointly with you to make a commission happen. Please know these rates are for concert music only. All rates are inclusive of composing, engraving, and editing parts for the extent and parameters of the commission. All rates are negotiable.

• $277 for one 1.5 hour session

• $503 per day, max 6 hours with breaks

Other Considerations

Once you have an idea of the type of commission you seek, feel free to contact me via the button below to begin discussing the project with me. Ideally, we would begin discussions one year before the first rehearsal. There must be at minimum six months between when we agree and sign a contract and the submission date of the sound work. 50% of the agreed fee will be paid upon contract signing of which $1000 will be considered a non-refundable fee. The remaining 50% will be paid on the delivery of the work. This can be negotiated.​
